A sermon is a religious speech given by a religious leader, such as a priest or preacher as part of a worship service. Sermons are usually based on a Bible passage and address a moral, theological or scriptural topic. The act of delivering a sermon is called preaching. This page will help people understand the application of the Word of God to their lives.
Sermon One

Fr told us a conversation he had with a parishioner. She told Fr not to change. Fr answered that he would try his best not to change. However no one can promise something like this in the future. Then she told Fr that her family is always poor but enough. She and her husband have tried their best but something will always pop up like her husband being retrenched or someone in the family will fall sick etc. As a result, they can never be rich.

Fr asked her what would she do if she was rich. She said she would have paid for her daughter's higher study education. Her daughter had to take a study loan. Fr told her it is not bad to take a loan. Why did Fr said that? Fr told her that her daughter will appreciate the value of money with the loan.
Fr ends the sermon by saying that all the happenings in our life is to build our character. We must have faith in God and accept whatever happens in our life.
Sermon Two

Fr talked about the birth of John, the Baptist. John's mother, Elisabeth had suffered being barren for many years . It was the greatest disability in those days to be barren. However with God, all things are made possible. Elisabeth gave birth to John the Baptist when she was past the normal age for childbearing.
Fr said many of us suffer from one disability or another. As we age, we have more disabilities. We have pain in our body, loss of memory and hearing, cancer etc. However one common disability whether young or old is the disability of being barren in our heart. That is to forgive someone whom we cannot forgive. We only want a zero relationship with the person. We need to overcome this ability. The Bible says that forgiveness is central to salvation and that we should forgive others as God has forgiven us. Hence if we listen to God and believe in his words, we should let God bear fruits in our life.
